I've long suspected my moral compass might be broken. When we read them together, it dawned on us that I hadn't kept one of them. We had a chuckle about it at the time, and then I logged onto X to denigrate some asylum seekers. But afterwards it occurred to me that a better human being might be doing everything in his power to fight the toxic narratives of the far right, rather than endorsing and sanctioning them.
