Ditto what you said. I turned to my wife and said, "so all this technology is supposed to have been developed in 30 years?" She didn't care. Timothy Olyphant is my man crush. He looks like a 57 year old Billy Idol in that makeup.

It's actually 95 yrs in the future (2120), but still too close. I get it... ALIEN was set in 2122... but that film was made in 1979. They still heard the echoes of humans landing on the moon less than a decade after they began the attempt. Nothing seemed out of reach It's a pet peeve. Ignore me
Yes, but it was on a 65 year mission. Am I being a dork?
You might be thinking of Ripley's daughters age and computing backwards... but her daughter aged so much because Ripley was in that escape pod, floating until someone found her. Had the Nostromo just continued on course (no aliens), they might have been home just a few years later.
I see... 😀
(We are both dorks)
Haha! Finally, another dork like me.
It’s does say the Maginot is on a 65 year mission, but I suppose it’s not clear at what point in the 65 years 2120 is? Is it 65 years since it started, or is 2120 midway through and they were scheduled to head out again after dropping off the specimens. “35 yrs without pay” was a threat used.
Thank you, Bill. Not sure how I missed that. Much appreciated.
