The United States is trying hard to find out what we are as a people. The majority of us look on Canada as a friend and brother. Trump and his sycophants won’t be around forever and we will find a way to iron out our many problems…it will probably be ugly. Don’t count us out.
We know Americans are very fine people and don’t deserve this. Canadians despise Trump. We are shocked at the power he holds in a democracy. The lost trade alliances will not be coming back. Not easily reversed.
It was won’t be easy that certain but I have to believe that we can patch things up sooner than later.

Our country is teetering on the edge and it will be a struggle, but, God willing, sanity and brotherhood will return someday in the not too distant future.

They didn’t vote for him enough to elect him. He stole the election. There is evidence the machines were hacked. The numbers don’t add up.
And I don’t believe he was shot, either, but there is next to no resistance to what is going on. The NYTimes is on the dark side. He has a great deal of support, acquiescence; it depends on the degree, but institutions and people are, in the main, going along with this, not in the streets. IMO
He wasn’t shot (sadly). I’m no expert, but I think people are in denial about what’s happening because of how surreal and overwhelming it all is. Denial is a powerful coping mechanism for fear. And now that he has the money to hire the morons, it’s going to be that much more difficult to fight him.
And impossible to fight climate demise. Which is next. We are having to talk about this jackass endlessly when in just a few short years we will be fighting over the last bottle of water. On verra…

Well they are getting what they voted for but so are Canadians, so is the planet and on and on. Americans made that happen. They just did. Not every individual American, there are, I’m sure, lots of nice ones. But enough of them are not. You are more generous than I.
I just returned from visiting Montreal. I was afraid that we would be treated badly but that wasn’t the case. Politics aside, Canadians and Americans are pretty much the same. Politics suck the life out of people.
