I used to volunteer at the Metro Parks. The urban wildlife around here have no fear. They will follow people with food, or hang out around the trash cans. On the Oval, I once saw a squirrel take a guy's sandwich when he set it on the bench and turned his head away.
I'm sure it's a pain. Next week when we play Grambling State it shouldn't be quite as crazy.

Ha! I wish I could say I was officially retired but I'm still planning on working. Just looking for the right fit (and a job where I can go to the bathroom whenever I want 😆).
I officially retired from classroom teaching on June 1. There were many reasons but bullshit like this definitely contributed to my decision.
I will not miss the yearly "intruder drills" where I take a group of 10 year olds through simulated active shooter situations.
High school was pretty decent for me. I was part of the marching band so I had an automatic group of people to hang out with. Middle school, however (shudder)...

I read that they are also spreading mulch in the parks, something that the park service would normally do.

I just retired from the classroom after 22 years of teaching in public schools. The students who were online for K-3 during the COVID lockdowns were on average the lowest I've ever taught both academically and socially. I am not an AI proponent at all, but AI for K-3 is an especially horrible idea.
To this day, I still have not seen anyone adequately explain what was "woke" about the new logo.
