Armed troops are on DC streets, setting up checkpoints, harassing residents + tearing down anti-ICE banners to leave a dildo in a kid's park. In response, residents are forming networks of resistance + mutual aid. Read our discussion w/ @remorahousedc.bsky.social: itsgoingdown.org/whole-city-f...

If you want kids, fight for a country that you'd be happy to raise them in. Don't throw in the towel. Help build a broad movement against fascism and for the end to gross wealth inequality, an end to rule by billionaires and their evil henchmen. Help create a culture of well-being and of kindness.
S. Hayase (@quicktide.bsky.social) reply parent
Voters need to read betw the lines: does this candidate dream of fascism and wealth inequality and impunity? Or are they trying to build a nation in which people can raise their children to be free, educated, kind, and who will oppose racism, sexism, homophobia, and nutty internet science?
S. Hayase (@quicktide.bsky.social) reply parent
Add to this the pretty seriously discouraging prospect of raising a child in a country with secret police that can grab you off the street and a vindictive POTUS surrounded by sycophantic Fox Bimbos who can't solve problems, who can only destroy things.
S. Hayase (@quicktide.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes, wealth inequality, agree. AND, we also need someone to deal with the redistricting issue, and Newsom's doing it, so that's good, right. He's trolling the hell out of trump and that's good, also raising the contradiction to msm for questioning him but not trump's incoherent blurps.
S. Hayase (@quicktide.bsky.social) reply parent
The challenge: figure out what we need right now, not whether someone's eternal scorecard makes them in essence completely this (a hero?) or that (a villain?). In politics things are very dynamic & there are big contradictions. FDR enacted SocSec but he also incarcerated Japanese Americans.

Lalo Alcaraz on the recent ICE/CBP raid on Little Tokyo in Los Angeles, CA. ICE raid took place on the exact spot that Japanese immigrants and citizen children were ordered to report for detention and indefinite incarceration in 1942. Shame on ICE! Shame!!

I've never heard of Linda Sarsour using any kind of anti-Semitic language or sentiment. Remember that being critical of Israeli govt policy and/or expressing solidarity with Palestinians is NOT anti-Semitic. Many people are critical of Israel and in solidarity with the people of Gaza.
