I've been wrong before and I'm sure I'll be wrong again. Shooting somebody is the very antithesis of intent to kill. She had no visible weapon. There was no imminent threat of bodily harm from her. Maybe look at rules of engagement for police officers. Byrd should have been charged.

I grew up in LA and I had a friend who had this exact scenario happened to them. She was a woman home in her apartment and some guy was breaking in through her window and she merely pointed a gun at him and she got arrested for felony brandishing a firearm. True story. Never even shot him.
You are correct and I was unaware she was "armed", even though I think it's a bit of a reach to consider a pocket knife as being armed and deadly as opposed to a firearm. And she never pulled the knife....

No polar ice caps. Tropical with lots of volcanic activity responsible for the CO2 levels. Keep in mind though that an error spans a couple thousand years so they're variations throughout all of it.
