From 20 years ago today—Patti Smith joined the band at Hyde Park for “E-bow the Letter.” The show that day had been moved from 7/9/05 due to the 7/7 attacks in London. As Bertis said in one of his later postcards reflecting on that time: “We all felt a strange mix of emotions throughout—still do.”
