Have we seen the last of Star Fox and the team? I hope not, as it remains one of my favourite Nintendo franchises. Macbeth in SF64 is one of the best videogame levels ever conceived! And the Corneria theme from Starwing is a banger lol. #Nintendo #Starfox

I like checking the tax on old cars, that Austin Morris was registered in 1981 was last taxed in 1991. Only made it 10 years. Also shout out for the Little Chef lollipops.
You should also check out Half Life 2, it's a phenomenal achievement. I'm always curious as to what else could have run on the system.
What were Dreamcast prices like by then, can you recall? It was discontinued by then already if my memory serves me right.

In 1986 Nintendo introduced fax machines to stores to enable you send them your high scores to let you win prizes.
1999, what an exciting era of gaming to live through. What are you choosing from these pages? I'm having that N64 Goldeneye bundle for £95! And maybe the bootleg 2600, the Systema TV Boy. In fact I really should add one to the collection now lol.
In a very similar fashion I convinced my wife a PS3 was a great way to get a Blu-ray player lol.
Very similar to my story. What was it that made you make the leap to the Xbox? My brother had one, and watching him play games like PGR2 inspired me to have one for myself at uni.
I got a PS2 Slim for GTA:SA. But when the Xbox one was released later and i snapped it up, as i was a bit fed up of performance issues the PS2 had running it. It was night and day for me. I later sold the PS2 as i just didnt use it. I now own 3 lol.
It was pretty mind blowing to finally see Arcade perfect looking games on a console.

I did enjoy visiting friends to play on their Mega Drive, even if i was a bit of a Nintendo boy back then lol.

In contrast, having had a NES and Game Boy, i was very Nintendo centric already by the early 90s. We never had a computer in the house. N64 era i started to appreciate other platforms had other games worth playing too lol.

That killed off my original white machine, but my black Elite is still going.

Tbh, I think I would be on the tail end of that. I was 9 in 1992, so not a common thing I had to know about.
I don't recall ever being taught it officially. I was in year 5 in 1992, it probably wasnt deemed a priority at that age lol.
I've been distracted by getting VHS on eBay lol.
Systema, Grandstand, Nintendo, Hornby. The LCD era of the early 90s had so much beautiful variety.
Can't remember the last time I was anywhere near an HMV sadly. My Tesco Extra did away with physical media a few years ago.
Many people wont appreciate that until 1992 in the UK, there was no legal requirement for electrical equipment to come with a plug. Buying a NES? Great. Comes with 2 pads, a game & zapper... But no plug. Which youll need to wire up yourself. Also, got any fuses? #RETROGAMING

The Lynx has some really great games. I love Warbirds, a 3D WW1 flight sim, how is that even possible lol.

So it would seem I own several versions of Link's Awakening, but have still yet to finish it! A crime I know. I got a fair way on the Switch but cannot recall why I stopped. My last save was 2019! I think I need to start again.

An Intellivision. For no other reason than we just don't see enough of them on Twitter. Who experienced one as a child? Being born in 1983 i missed this generation. Were there Intellivision/Colecovision/Atari playground wars?
Love this game, the pinnacle of 3D platforming.
Now this is a tower of power! I love the original Xbox. It was the first non Nintendo console I owned and opened me up to a whole other world of games. So many great titles that showcase the power of the machine, with Half-Life 2 being a personal standout. Any fans out there?

My Nintendo 90s. This sums up everything that was awesome for me in that era. I turned 16 in 1999, had I been a bit older I may have been lured by the coolness that was the Playstation. As it was, I loved being in my Nintendo bubble. How about you?! #retrogaming #Nintendo
13 hours into Atomfall and I'm having a great time. An interesting area to explore with lots of environmental story telling. Enjoy finding the leads to different quests, rather than just following a waypoint. I did crank the difficulty down though lol, not enough time to grind.
Currently staying in a hotel in Cologne, and the lounge is chock full of coffee table books. This particular title caught my eye! If only I had a coffee table!

No I'm here for it lol. Our first VHS player was a 1981 Ferguson Videostar 3v23. It was an absolute unit and lasted into the 90s. The relatively small size of the tape slot shows how huge it was.
This is what video gaming looked like during the summer I was born, and how awesome it looked. A little sad I didn't experience this first hand, but glad it was still within my life time. When were you born? I'll see if I can post a gaming catalogue photo!

I love an under dog. It's actually a pretty competent machine. Good visuals and colours. Just 10 years too late lol. Picked up mine a fair while ago for £25, but as with anything retro the prices have soared.

Sim City 3D!
A fun little gaming memento. These Sega Pirate stickers date from 1993 when Sega sponsored the Williams F1 racing team. These were added to the drivers' rear wing for every race that they won. Suzuka is interesting as it wasn't a race that Williams won, therefore the sticker was never used.
Ah that's cool. I found a Lodgenet N64 controller still attached in a hotel in St Louis in 2011. Games had long gone, but the dpad still controlled the channel and volume lol.

Prior to buying one a few years ago, it was easy to be cynical about the Lynx. Having owned one for a few years, I love it. Such a powerful machine with some great games. Deserved to do better.

A game that I will forever retain not only the love, but the muscle memory lol. Controls, handling, layouts, secrets, objectives etc. All burnt into my brain. Completed 100% in 1997, and 2023. Good times.
Just didn't see it coming. I thought it was going to be my final triumphant moment, using Dead Eye on 20+ enemies. It wasn't.
