I'm pretty safe with electricity, I use an isolation transformer I never usually have to deal with turntable springs, it's mostly rock hard grease and dry idler wheels

And just a reminder, why I'm afraid of this spring. The barrel is nearly the span of my whole hand and the spring is about one inch (2.5cm) wide. And it's under torsion. If I lose control of it it will explode out out and whip around very, very hard
Alright My lithium grease is arriving today. Should be able to finish the spring and maybe get the victrola all back together. The plan is to wear safety glasses, a full face respirator and a leather jacket when I take the spring out of the barrel, probably overly-cautious but I like my eye
