I was lucky enough to have a teacher who stopped everything after the Rodney King verdict and helped us process and learn for several days. That type of educator is what made us stronger and capable of navigating future trauma.
Gen Xer here. We read about Ms McAuliffe for months in our classes in what I believe was called Weekly Reader. We felt like we knew her. Then we watched her die and our teachers didn’t know what to do so they pretended like it didn’t happen.
