I knew I was working. I had no idea it was frowned upon for a company to send an employee to a branch office. I was 25. It was my second time on an airplane. It wouldn’t have been an issue if I had been treated politely. I’ve never been spoken to as an adult like that.
It was my second time ever on an airplane. My first for work. We open a Calgary office, and my first trip there I thought I was going to be refused entry. I feared for my job. The woman in customs was hateful.
I had almost forgotten the pain this indecent caused me. Now I’m about to cry. I wasn’t entitled, I was ignorant. Stop being mean.
My attitude was that of a scared kid. It was my first trip abroad, and I was treated like scum. I’m honestly not interested your opinion of the incident.
My employer said to just tell them I was going skiing next time. Worked like a charm. I still blame the woman in customs for being an ass about it. She treated me like trash.
