AF vet here, who was not in a position to know anything, but we practiced everything. That is what the military does, they come up with a whole bunch of scenarios and then they practice them. Every time I was stationed in Korea, we had a bunch of plans to practice in case of war. This is not news.

I was stationed there for a year (20 years ago) and the base was ran by the Danes. They far outnumbered the Americans stationed there. No doubt she was trying to extend an olive branch to them after his visit. The base needs to be in good standing with the Danes just to function.
The base is very remote. You can drive an hour in any direction and at most you will see a tiny fishing village. Did a year there, rarely ever saw anyone when we left base. Youāre more likely to see a seal.
The base has nothing around it, there are no towns close by. The inuits in the area move around a lot. If they go anywhere it will have to be by helicopter, but it's not like a tourist spot by any means.
I did a year at Thule AB, which I believe is where she is going. They don't screen visitors on those flights, so nothing to prevent her. There is also nothing in that area to see other than the radar sites.
