Funny thing about ignoring the law and making up BS justification for naked political gain.

No argument about the problem, but think we need answers way beyond unions.

I suspect we would be well beyond furious if that top 10/th were broken down to show income for each percentile from 91 to 100.

That is kind of the portfolio wide play. Transfer taxpayer dollars to private contractors.

Stupid machines taking jobs felt a bit loaded. Again, my misread. I am thinking about AI, how it will affect the rest of my lifetime. Need to be careful about knee jerk reactions I guess. It does seem like there will be profound implications in academia thus I note your quotes....

Not sure I get the animosity? Firstly, the example is not generative AI, but rather general which works pretty well. The machine is just a tool, and it's here.

How would one estimate the amount of money/resources wasted on pursuing this one man, who doesn't really appear to have done much of anything. It's bad that this admin is vindictive, it's a disaster that it comes at the cost of everything else.

Why bother? He probably deserves a lot worse, but that still doesn't have anything to do with whether it is right or not.

The rich don’t spend the money they have, and the poor don’t have money to spend. This is a problem when 70% of the economy relies on consumer spending. Closing our nation's wealth gap isn’t just the right thing to do. It’s essential to save our economy. https://youtu.be/S6dCh48b4oI?feature=shared

Also, we would be foolish to ignore that a masked apparently lawless goon squad is being assembled. Its funding is now more than Israel's defense budget and beyond conceivable need. There are not enough border crossings to keep next year's ICE busy. What will it be used for?
Scott Brion (@sfbrion.bsky.social)
Anyone else think that this is about more than immigration? An annual budget larger than Isreal's defense budget and untold billions on new detention targeting a limited pool of people who are not a problem can only go one way. This is the end of the beginning. www.democracynow.org/2025/7/2/tru...

Honestly, wish more Senators would take the same approach. If McCormick (my Senator) would go to bat for the vulnerable rural communities (and our hospitals) in his state the bill could improve a lot. But he won't. He holds deciding vote and he is not willing to put his personal tax cut at risk.
