In the transport sector, sufficiency would surely lead to a drastic reduction in aviation demand, banning SUVs and large private cars, and a big decrease in leisure travel? Q: how do we ensure sufficiency without carbon rationing and individual budgets? Equity demands it, surely?

Today old when I discovered the Ardagh Community Trustās gardens, plant nursery, cafe & community centre in north Bristol. Beautiful, great fun with the kids and an excellent example of whatās possible when the community takes the lead in managing local assets. More about it: theardagh.com

Thanks! Some of those are favourites familiar but Jez Alborough is new to me, will check him out. Not entirely sure thereās a proper definition of chapter books but itās used to describe a lot of the slightly longer books (ie ones with multiple chapters) for early readers.

Great to see these proposals starting to take shape. Just completed the consultation to say that it would indeed be a good idea if streets were a bit safer for my kids to get about on, there were a few more street trees and residential streets werenāt being treated as car parks.

National Travel Survey findings for 2024 are released by DfT today. So much in there (as always) but my favourite stat is: > Average walking distance travelled was the highest on record since 2002 with 230 miles per person in 2024. This was an increase of 12% compared to 2019 (205 miles per person)
