@lvmpd.com seems to be one of the most thuggish large police forces in the nation. It'll be interesting to see what the last week's worth of policing costs them in lawsuit payouts. I wish they would scrub their website of fake platitudes about community policing. Actions speak louder than words.
It's also notable that the lead thug (baldy) instigated with his snarky suggestion that they have nothing better to do.

btw, re: the blackout event on Friday. I love the fight! One word of caution... the admin's behavior is puzzling. Don't their actions suggest that they WANT an economic crash? I'm giving them credit for not being stupid. How do we know the event wasn't furthering their cause, whatever it is?
I think we're heading toward a very bad recession. Weekly unemployment claims will be ugly leading up to the March Employment reports on April 4th. It wouldn't surprise me if Trump directs loyalists to fudge the numbers. They won't get away with it. I'm glad the NBER and the Fed are independent!
@fchollet.bsky.social I think it's reasonable to look at Austin as the "San Francisco of Texas." As you probably know it's very progressive here. And yet we have Alex Jones, Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, Greg Abbott, and quite a few other hard-right characters. They seem out of place but here they are.
Maybe so Mark but how many active duty will be happy with this. I feel so sorry for them. I do understand that many, inexplicably, will be happy as well.
