Like, Infinity Nikki's photo mode is beefy, you can tell the devs knew how important it'd be. There's an animation timeline so you can get a anim frame-perfect pose while doing emotes; and you can share the pics in-world with other players similar to Elden Ring notes. Helps that the map is beautiful
Hands down, Infinity Nikki. But that's not surprising for an adventure game about fashion. And they lose points by not making your pics into load screens. Fallout 76 comes second b/c of that load screens thing and b/c they have two modes: normal photo mode and ones an actual point-and-click camera.

Caves of Qud is the perfect example of why what you're saying is super important. Caves at least has the benefit of being a video game that handles it, but having some characters have slots for front and back feet, anywhere between 0-4 arms, no torso sometimes, or two heads (and two faces) is a lot!

On art teams I've lead, I focus on pipeline efficiency. I like to say that 90% of the work is in the prep, implementing the art is the easy 10%. Making a game where most low priority assets are done means the team can polish everything and focus on the new Hero Assets to make them look even better.
Instead of a crime how about a civic duty: using leftover naan to scrape out butter chicken sauce from the pan before cleanup 🫡 Though maybe the crime is "having leftover naan" 🤷♂️
