Current inflation is 2.7%. I lived through the 1970s with 12% inflation. Even at 3 or 4% it will start to stretch people’s budgets but we’re not there yet.

The bottom line is that Trump is, in fact, a very skilled conman. He says what people want to hear. And he hammers away with complete self-confidence. I believe it is/was very busy people who didn’t take the time to see what stood behind the confident claims.
There was never any need to imagine this. It was clearly announced as Project 2025. If you believed Trump when he said “I don’t know any of those people who wrote Project 2025 even though most of them worked for me in my previous administration”, then you’re just plain gullible.

And now when I see people playing tennis I think “Wow, I was not very good but they are SO much worse. They should be playing pickleball!” Few amateurs that I see are able to play tennis without truly embarrassing themselves.
I recently gave up tennis at 67 because of pain in both ankles, both knees, both hips, both wrists, both elbows (yes, I had to resort to playing left-handed) and my right shoulder. Playing pickleball leaves me with only pain in one ankle and I’m saving a ton of money not buying ibuprofen.
