Walked out yesterday morning to this. Spent a couple of hours cleaning up the mess and repotting strawberries and Chrysanthemums. Not gonna lie, days like this make me wish I believed in catching and relocating wildlife. Instead, I will add soap shavings and cayenne pepper to reduce temptation. 🤞🏻

I think your frustration is better aimed at voters. Texans ignore the Primaries. Only 18% of registered voters cast ballots in 2022. And that was higher than the previous six Primaries.

UPDATE on the Border Patrol arrest outside of Newsom's press conference last week. A dozen Border Patrol agents descended on the streets outside his conference. They ended up arresting a delivery driver with no criminal record — then appear to have lied and claimed he was a drug dealer.
They did handle it. And well. They gave other states a chance to react and make plans.
That’s my point, most of them have more than one job. Texas legislators make $7,200 annually, not including per diem. They have to work other jobs.
Bait and switch politics a la Abbott. Say you want to work on flood reform and relief. Then push redistricting and only redistricting.
If you “needed” to, could you drop everything, leave the state, hole up somewhere, indefinitely? Do you not have responsibilities to your family, job, home? Originally you said “as long as possible.” For the ones who returned, other priorities brought them back. Responsibilities other than politics.
Abbott has up to $70 million in emergency budget authority. He can release the funding no matter what Dems are doing. He doesn’t need approval. But he can’t hand Trump five more districts on his own. Flood relief should have been the first and only item.
