I've never understood this argument. I don't know if it's specifically an American thing, but automatic cars are just... NOT a thing in the UK. We've all got Euro cars that are, like, fifteen years old. We know how to use a sodding gearstick, we're not dumb.
It's really interesting as, due to this weird overlap, SJA is still using monsters that look more like RTD era ones than Moffatt era ones. (With the exception of those two robots from The Empty Planet, for some reason?)

In contrast, the guy on the live version of Kraftwerk's "Radioactivity" who whoops immediately after the scary intro vocoder voice says "...will cause death and skin cancer", and totally destroys the solemn tone is inadvertently hilarious and I now kind of enjoy hearing him.

Turns out getting my son interested in Doctor Who was a terrible idea. This morning I've enjoyed a half hour conversation about how Chris Pratt would be a good Doctor. I am so angry right now and I cannot tell him.
I quickly ran through every preexisting Doctor Who character that I think Chris Pratt has a chance at playing. Unless we've got another appearance planned for the Pipe Organ from The Lazarus Experiment, it's not looking good for him.

I wasted it this year by being paranoid about nuclear war the night before, and overheating on the day, so I spent most of the day lying down in a field listening to The Beach Boys.
We have a thing called The Big Queer Picnic! It happens after the Pride Parade, at the same time as the big corporate Pride thing that has all the sponsors, the one that nobody seems to actually go to. They happen right next to eachother, on both sides of the river in the park. It's very funny.
No problem! I was a big big fan of Legacy (The second one) when it released, and I just think it's such a fun series that looks gorgeous, in any decade!

...which is insane given that one came out in 1982 and the other in 2010. You could even argue that the best way to watch them is to watch the sequel first. Knowing what happens in the sequel makes some odd bits in the first one that don't lead to much feel like foreshadowing!
There's two films. There's also an animated series which looks great and has Elijah Wood in it, and a few video games of varying levels of quality (And one that's not canon). What's odd about the two films is that they feel so similar, they REALLY feel like a "Part 1" and "Part 2" for eachother...

I watched Pather Panchali at Uni for my film course a few years ago, and it's such a good watch, very hard hitting. Satyajit Ray was a real genius, one of those guys who seems to have been good at anything he tried! It explains why he was such a workaholic!
