Dems haven’t. Dems altogether have been fairly good on trans rights all things considered. Republicans on the other hand have stripped TONNES of rights away from trans people in most US states.
Right to compete in sports of the correct gender. Right to access healthcare as a trans minor. Right to have complete and total legal recognition as your sex. Right to access any and all public and private gender segregated facilities/institutions as your correct sex.

We don’t actually segregate based on size, weight or age in most sports. More, Jews are an ethnic group, and we absolutely did at once segregate sports based on ethnicity. Do you remember the Negro leagues?
According to title IX, women actually have the right to compete in men’s sports, particularly if women’s teams/leagues are not available. We absolutely should die on the hill of civil rights for all.
There’s just one problem. Puberty doesn’t begin at 13. It can begin as early as 9 and as late as 15. So arbitrarily choosing 13 as a magical age where trans people should be able to access healthcare is pseudoscientific and dangerous.

4. As for California, California has seen both major clinic closures, no enforcement of state laws against clinics that are discriminating, AND some trans athlete restrictions. It obviously is "moderate risk" at this point. NY and IL have likewise seen major closures and no enforcement yet.
