Just to add, the twenty twenty five theme does this.
We add them in the patterns folder filename.php. Then we add the pattern to the template. Works perfectly.

Figured it out! 🎉 Turns out you can filter get_block_templates to remove specific WooCommerce templates when WooCommerce isn’t active.
Can you unregister a block template bundled in a block theme? unregister_block_template() is aimed more for plugins afaik. I need to unregister a WC template when WC is not activated. @briancoords.com @elliottrichmond.co.uk anyone?

We always use @cloudflare.social $10.44 for .com with security thrown in for free. What’s not to like?

I tend to agree with you here! :) But as tools and themes become more user-friendly, could we see a shift where end users play a bigger role in adoption?
I think the shift depends on better tools, education, and demand for modern features. As block themes improve and classic themes lose support, adoption will likely accelerate. Curious—will users or developers drive this change?
Tough one 🤔. Depends on development for those themes I suppose. We're 100% in on block themes and only supporting bug fixes & security of classic themes.

While talking performance, @felixarntz.bsky.social mentioned that switching from a classic theme to a block theme can be one of the biggest boosts to your site's web vitals number. One benefit of WP controlling the theme's frontend is they can continually improve it. (full episode link below)

At this point, mainly just mobile viewport changes, but we all know that an issue. But its always getting better with each update. We'll get there.

Frustrating. Have you tried cachebusting to see if it helps? Sometimes just appending a query string like ?v=1 to the URL can force a fresh load and fix these odd issues. Worth a shot before recreating everything! Good luck! 🤞

Both could be achieved with custom code / plugin. You can use the wp_head hook in your theme’s functions.php file to include a meta tag As for the category this is also possible.
