It's hard to tell what is instinct vs what is learned behavior. Birds can be pretty smart. It might be an adaptation moving from leaves to paper as you say, or it could just be something they learned to do. I'm no ornithologist so i can't really say. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

He displays his lack of competence and skill. This is a pathetic and transparent attempt to create a polarizing wedge issue to further isolate Canadians from each other. Existing law covers this adequately. There's no pressing need for this. He is not a leader.

I left Fb cold turkey sometime shortly after Trump was elected the first time. I lost touch with a lot of friends, but I couldn't tolerate the platform anymore. Even then it was pretty toxic and just getting worse. In fact I left all social media. BlueSky was my return.

I can still physically ride a two wheeler. It just stopped feeling safe. ๐ I have thought about a 3 wheeler but it actually would be a little worse on these narrow shouldered roads. There's many more dedicated trails you can ride on now and I might look into that. I do miss it.

The helmet saved me. It cracked in half instead of my skull. It put an end to any bicycle touring for me though. I had a young child, and the risk of going over poorly maintained roads seemed too risky for me to continue with it. ๐ซค

Ugh, don't even talk to me about the roads here! I almost killed myself 20 years ago on a bicycle tour because a road washed out in the spring and wasn't fixed or even had proper warning signs in place..... In August! I still have scars on my body from that episode.

It's been difficult. I normally find people hard to be around, but since the emergence of Covid and the rise of intolerance, misogyny, and racism, it's been hard to look at people the same way anymore. BlueSky has helped a little. I have met many kind like minded people here. ๐
