So, what's the penalty for violating this law??? Is anyone gonna be charged with any crime? Somehow these things must be stopped before they happen. It's like, Trump does something obviously illegal, then court process starts. Months pass, in the meantime, he does 100 more illegal things.

There is no need of this. Public already "owns" part of corporations by investing in infrastructure, education, safety, security, etc. Corporate tax is the dividend.

Stan Bonev πΊπ¦π¨π¦πͺπΊ (@stanb.bsky.social) reply parent
It's not based on need, it's based on equality. It is not that straightforward for government to determine who needs what. Instead, people with more means should give more (taxed more). And, like you yourself said, targeted social programs, like housing, don't always work anyway.

Stan Bonev πΊπ¦π¨π¦πͺπΊ (@stanb.bsky.social) reply parent

That's the point of UBI, replace targeted programs like that. Housing is undersupplied, but a lot of things have oversupply, price will not go up, people will spend their UBI on such things, instead of housing, alleviating inflationary pressure.
