Saw Nickel Boys tonight pre-NFL season opening. I liked the book a lot. It's very good. The movie is on such a separate level that I cannot name a better flick I have seen in 10 years. Utterly unbelievable viewing experience. A tear to my eye as it wrapped.

Holding a yearly game in Ireland for no real reason is a good touch though. I’ll throw my pick in that we see a season opener Saudi Arabia game by 2035.
Week 1 takeaway is that the games feel bigger and better on actual campus sites and not in NFL stadiums with empty seats. I am sure we won’t repeat this exact same mistake every year until the end of time!

Most ‘welcome back, college football’ moment imaginable is seeing these two headlines back to back
it feels fundamentally different than CBB to me. With that the actual production of the game itself can feel huge and there’s generally always something to play for even if it’s fourth in the standings. CFB, man, I just cannot get up if you’re playing to participate in the Poinsettia Bowl.
I’ve been debating writing something essentially around these lines. I still watch Michigan games, probably ~75% of Tennessee’s, and the marquee game of the week but my F It button for CFB is huge compared to 10 years ago. If a game gets boring even in 2Q I’m going on a walk.
