The thing that often blows by is not only is crime the lowest its been for any non-senior citizen's life, it has been roughly that safe for *fifteen years*. We have had fifteen years of steady, low crime while the irrational freakout over crime has relentlessly grown to a fevered, disordered pitch.

When I bake cookies, cake, etc, I routinely put in a little shake of most of the "pumpkin spice" spices, because they add depth. It is weird that they got associated with squash. I wish they'd started out with "Autumn Spice."

I finished painting (except for clear coat over the decals) a model rocket built from a 55 year old kit. I managed to implement the box-art paint job, which only an artist who never painted a rocket could come up with. This is a three stager! It will fly in a few weeks.

Just noting, if you have little containers — you like TicTacs or mints or something — and you do any kind of crafting or DIY? Save your containers, and when you take something apart (say, for disposal) save the screws/fittings/buttons because there aren’t enough US makers of screws and fittings.
