Conducting an unintentional experiment into the impact of a late afternoon mochaā¦ So far mocha > half a guide to good project management when it comes to trying to sleep. This is all good stuff but itās basically a hardcopy text book š please brain, I have no other cheats for you.
This was my introduction to the heroine I didnāt know I needed - have been warmly recommending all over! Been saving the sequel as my post-dissertation reward (also a gorgeous illumicrate edition).
The other upside - getting those nifty moments of āoh, I did good there!ā when you get the reader experience because youāve forgotten writing it.

I feel like these wind-down, sleep improvement apps that recommend reading before sleep fail to adequately advertise the riskiest side effect to the prescription: the āone more chapterā hex.
The problem with staying up 4 hours past bed time finishing your latest fab read, say The Raven Scholar by Antonia Hodgson, is that sometimes you need to catch a 6am train the next day šµāš«š“šµ Worth it though #booksky
Might be a spoof but they are legit saving up to take a year out periodically so they can enjoy āretirementā whilst fit and healthy, precisely because they donāt think theyāll ever actually be able to retire.

I feel like given the typical financial position of most aspiring authors, Ā£170 worth of UK novel competitions all having entry deadlines end of May is potentially prohibitive. (I know entering early can be a thing, but then you canāt do that final tweak!) #Writing #AmWriting

Now that pretty book subscription research has met pension research, Iām on the waitlist for all the book subscriptions and have decided future me can live in a house made of books whilst the cats catch critters if my pension letās me down.

I know you arenāt the biggest tech fan but if publishers arenāt automating this sort of checking and letting authors and editors focus on meaningful review, I despair of their efficiency and continuous improvement teams. (That AI you hate could even help design the code like an ROIā¦)
Some days I am a rational, competent professional. (If youāre a client, all days!) Other days, none of my available (255) TBR books will do. I will spend an hour searching the house for a different book Iām 90% sure I bought, and eventually discover it in a stack of cookery pamphlets.
Four days off with the goal of writing something (maybe my assignment?). Instead, I have walked 37k steps, cleaned the house, done gardening for the first time in 18 months, read two books, assembled a Lego set, watched two TV series and deleted/filed 3,000 emails. š¤« #writing #procrastinating

One thing you need to understand about me is I donāt have a TBR pile or even shelf. I have two TBR bookcases with 260 books. So when I donāt seem excited about the book youāre recommending, itās not that Iām not excited, itās that my reading average around work since 2019 looks like this! #Booksky
