If you're Vladimir Putin, you're ecstatic with how this summit went. 1) The US Army rolled out the red carpet 2) Putin smiled as he rode in the presidential limo 3) Putin led the press conference and was allowed to set the tone. 4) Trump and Putin could not agree if there was even an agreement.
My takeaway from the #AlaskaSummit presser: Putin completely controlled this press conference, from start to finish. Trump said little. I don't think I've ever been more bewildered by a summit like this. The word "ceasefire" never came up.
"I believe we had a very productive meeting. There were many, many points that we agreed on," Trump said in brief remarks.
Putin says he agrees with President Trump who has long said the war with Ukraine would not have happened if Trump were President.
