#BooksRead2025 #64 Finally getting around to this book after six years of it sitting on my shelf, and this ultra-violent, beautifully written masterpiece is one of the best books I’ve read this year. Brutal, upsetting and surprising. This book should be on every horror fans shelf.

Already broke my book budget for the month with all The Broken Binding editions released this week, but Barnes & Noble beckoned , and I couldn’t resist this gorgeous 1st printing only special edition of Katabasis by Rebecca Kuang. Beautiful painted edges, and the same price as the standard edition!

Rewartched Spielberg’s WAR OF THE WORLDS for the first time in maybe 20 years and was kinda blown away by it. I’d forgotten so much. Incredible scope and scale to it. Now I am so freaking ready for his 2026 UFO flick with Emily Blunt and Wyatt Russell. I’m expecting some pretty great things!

hey, cool. and, I'm doing an event with her Tuesday night, for Tattered Cover. at a church in Denver, I think? details, man. I only worry about them when I'm halfway to wherever I'm sort of supposed to be. at which point I sometimes have to turn around, re-direct. and hustle.
Malazan throws you right into the middle of a war with a cast of hundreds, taking place over multiple continents and thousands of years. Beautifully written, horrifying, thought provoking, awe Inspiring and mind blowing! Took a year of my life to finish, and so good, I took the journey twice!

Night Parade is my favorite, but most people would probably disagree. I always seem to love the odd choices- like Joyland being my favorite King book.
Sounds like a good plan of attack. I’m currently reading the last Stormlight and I’m struggling a bit. It’s a lot, with Sanderson bringing everything together, but I’m going to see it to the end!

And just want to add how cool it is, and how blessed we readers are to have a new story out in the world by Billy Martin AKA Poppy Z Brite.

Escaping, from this ridiculous reality we find ourselves in, into a book is what’s keeping me sane these days.
If you’re someone who still reads for pleasure, you are a marvel. If you’re able to unplug from all the chaos of our entertainment culture and disappear into the warmth and solace of a book, that is a rare gift and I’m very glad to know you.
Trying to do the same! Squeezing in some comic collections in between every 3 stories to keep me from zipping through the whole thing in one go! 🙂
