The Sarlac doesn't just digest it's victims. It absorbs them in a type of chrysalis that simultaneously feeds the victims as it eats them. Think the egg rooms in Alien movies.

Universal healthcare helps entrepreneurship and small businesses as much as individuals. One of the biggest bars to breaking out and starting a business is giving up healthcare, especially if you have a family. And lack of health benefits really hurts smaller businesses in competing for talent.

Not only did production have to redirect to a cover set, losing hours of time/crew pay, but we also had to go back and redress and relight a previously used location. Essentially paying twice for the same work. Luckily the location and props were still available and the owner didn't gouge them. 2/2
Bobby Kirk (@stlkirk.bsky.social) reply parent
I worked a good sized studio-indie that had huge cost and logistical issues, because the script wasn't clear that a bedroom was supposed to be the same bedroom previously used in the script. No one realized until the director showed up on location. 1/
Bobby Kirk (@stlkirk.bsky.social) reply parent
In my experience, working all size productions in a medium sized market, pre-shooting drafts are never rewritten for clarity or production ease. I'm not saying don't do it. If this is what it takes to sell your piece, it is what it has to be. But it will drive production insane.

Candidates would have meet a threshold of valid registered voter signatures to get on the ballot. This does eliminate the rep as an ombudsman to a specific geographic area, but it is the price of election malfeasance. Alternatively, reps could be assigned districts after the election. 3/3
Bobby Kirk (@stlkirk.bsky.social) reply parent
For example, Missouri has eight seats. The top eight finishers go to Congress. This eliminates redistricting shenanigans. It also slows third party candidates an actual chance at election, as they would be pulling from a much wider electorate, and not having to go head to head in a district. 2/
Bobby Kirk (@stlkirk.bsky.social)
Here's my idea to end gerrymandering in federal elections. Eliminate districts. The reps would be chosen across the state and represent the entire state. The ballot would list all candidates. Voters get to chose one. The top candidates each earn a spot, reguardless of percentage. 1/
