Pectoral, 4th century BCE, Scythian gold. I shortly explained who were the Scythians and showed other examples of ancient Crimean heritage. Salted with Ukrainian reality. Sunday Letter: www.patreon.com/posts/sunday...
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
Greetings from Kyiv, where I’ve just finished writing the Sunday Letter and having my warcoffee. Black. Strong. No sugar. No peace.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
New night. New attack. Monitoring channels report that the Odesa region is under drone attack. So tonight, I’m showing you a painting by an artist from Odesa. Igor Gusev Guardians of the Dawn, 2017
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
I’m not really into tea, but when I walked into this tea shop in Kyiv, I was impressed. Just wanted to show you. In case someone still thinks Kyiv is stuck in Soviet or prehistoric times. 😉
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
Tomorrow, in Sunday Letter, I’ll show you something from this place. I hope Saturday is gentle to you.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
The war has a frontline and a rear; calm days and terrible nights. I try to show you its different faces. A moment from Kyiv in the video.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social) reply parent
The wars are always like that: you have frontline and you have rear; you have calm days and terrible nights. The media don't write about it.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
Greetings from Kyiv, where I am having my warcoffee. Last night in Ukraine: - over 580 drones & missiles launched - Zaporizhzhia was hit hard: 1 person killed, 28 injured, and 25,000 without power in the region.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
russian bombers are on their way to the Ukrainian night. It’s almost 1 am here. All I want is for everyone to wake up in the morning.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
Drones over Kyiv. Warning of a possible missile attack. I answer with Ukrainian art. This is my act of resistance. Lyudmyla Sarzhynska, A Girl from Boyarka, 2024

Day of Mourning in Kyiv. No music in public spaces, no concerts, no festivals. Yesterday, russia killed 23 people in Kyiv - among them four children 💔 I’m having my warcoffee in mourning silence.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social) reply parent
It is a great idea. I have this exhibition in plans to visit. Need to check the internet connection there and ask if they allow me to go live.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
Bread baked in Kyiv today. After a sleepless night, someone still did it. So did I: sent a letter about bread, rituals, childhood memories. My small act of resistance. Exclusive for supporters www.patreon.com/posts/bread-...
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
Evening in Kyiv. I went out and bought some chocolate. I’m not really into chocolate, but I today I needed to sweeten either my body or my life. The death toll in Kyiv has risen to 19. People may still be trapped under the rubble.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
We need to move on. Kyiv is slowly coming back to life. A privilege to have a warcoffee today and finish my letter to you.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
More than numbers. At night, russia attacked Ukraine with 598 drones and 31 missiles. 12 people were killed in Kyiv - among them three children, aged 2, 14, and 17. More than numbers.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
Greetings from Kyiv. I managed to sleep a little, and even wake up. Kyiv survived a terrible attack. Residential buildings and sleeping people were the target. As of now, 8 people have been killed. I need a warcoffee.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
3 am in Kyiv. I woke up to loud explosions. Ballistic missiles, as the monitoring channels report.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
Drones. Warning of a missile attack. Midnight. I’m showing you Ukrainian art. Maybe I just need something beautiful. Ruslan Kutniak, Village Grail, 2017
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
Evening in Kyiv. The air raid alert began an hour ago. Drones. We had a few calm days. And it’s so easy to get used to them.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
A postcard video from Kyiv. Just a small reminder of how beautiful this city is.

I’d love your feedback if you joined today’s live walk on Patreon. • How was the video quality for you? • The sound? • Was the duration okay? • What did you enjoy the most? • What would you like me to add to future walks? No need to answer everything - even a short thought means a lot.

As I mentioned his name today, let’s look at his art. Viktor Zaretskyi, Spring Has Come, 1988 Ukrainian art is gorgeous.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
I saw it today. Kyiv’s Central Department Store windows are styled after works by Ukrainian artists, Alla Horska and Viktor Zaretskyi. Love the idea.

Greetings from Kyiv! It is partially grey. The app says rain. No. The night was calm. I had a warcoffee. Autumn is in the air, barely seen, yet already here.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
I don’t have sensations or revelations. What I have is a cup of warcoffee in a bookstore. Paintings that attacked my eyes at the exhibitions. Yellow breaking through the green trees. What I have is called life.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
It speaks. It cries. I saw it today at the exhibition of paintings by wives and mothers of fallen heroes.

Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
Just a reminder. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I often write about things you can hardly find anywhere else. All the photos and videos you see here are mine. Maybe I just needed to say this, because sometimes I feel pretty tired that so much is taken for granted.
Yaroslava (@strategywoman.bsky.social)
My favorite bookstore in Kyiv is dressed in flags and for a few days, it even changed its name from Sens to Independence. Tomorrow, August 24, is Independence Day of Ukraine.
