I'm with you. Among so many horrible things, this scares me the most.
The murder of little angels at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis - and so many other places - by people with assault weapons (or any other firearm) is a "national sin.” This is not a mere political issue. It is a defining moral one.

Deaf guy tried to show ICE his ID. An agent grabbed it and didn't return it. So he tried to type a message about his disability but an agent grabbed his phone. He was left w/ no way to communicate w/ the men seizing him. He was a DACA recipient (a "dreamer"). He spent nearly a month in detention.
It's a purge. It's revenge. Surely he knows the answer, and at this point, I don't know whom it serves to pretend not to.
This is so, so bad.

At the DeSantis Everglades detention camp, people with green cards are being held in terrible conditions, with maggots in the food, the lights kept on 24 hours a day, and delayed access to medicine. One guy had his Bible taken and was told "here there is no right to religion."

I wish journalists would stop framing political news as wins or losses for politicians or political parties. It’s an abrogation of our mission. Why do we keep doing this? Is the spending bill a win or loss for the American people? Who does it help? Who does it hurt? Is it sound policy? Fiscally?
I met with Ruth in El Salvador just over a month ago to discuss the abysmal human rights situation there. This news of her likely disappearance is exactly the kind of abuse she warned about. The Bukele regime must release her NOW.

6 weeks ago today, planes flew a few hundred people to El Salvador, where they’re being held at CECOT — a place from which Salvadoran officials brag no one is ever released — at US expense. Their continued detention there is our continued shame.
