Honestly red light cameras and forcing stops at actual 4 way stops will be better. The problem with 40km limits, is that most of the time the roads they’re used on were designed for 70km speeds. So your body feels like you *should* go faster.

When I was in WV, a county was screaming about how the books their kids used were so old that Clinton was still President. (Obama had been elected). The county reached out to the publisher, made a deal, and then told the voters it would cost a household tax levy of $1. It failed by > 80 points.

I just drove through a town with 40km enforced with speed cameras. It felt brutal. But earlier I drove through another small town and did 40 easily without enforcement. The difference? Wide roads make us feel like we *should* drive faster. Narrow the streets.

The pilot tried several touch-and-goes to try to dislodge the gear, but during one touch and go, the F-35 entered Ground Mode and became unflyable. The F-35 had ice in the hydraulic system that caused the landing gear to stick. Ice. Canada really needs to walk away.

That kids of German immigrants who fought in ww2 did not go through the same cultural shock as Germans n Germany. Despite being victorious from fighting the Germans, they didn’t have the cultural shock as the 67 generation. Many just swept it away and never spoke of it.

I’m saying mostly because I’m not familiar on the experience in the east except to say they didn’t have a full overhaul like the 67’s did. Also, there were East Germans who knew that what happened was wrong and their parents were wrong. But how it manifested was wildly different.

This is a really interesting thing too. It’s mostly west German. The East Germans didn’t really have a similar experience as the 67’s in the west. Also, the large numbers of Germans who left and immigrated to America and canada also didn’t go through a similar reckoning - oddly enough.
