I had an IRL "THEY AIN'T SEC!" moment in a Columbia, MO piano bar a few years ago. Our most belligerent friend paid them $20 to play "The Victors." They told the bar they'd play until someone paid them $21 to play anything else. It took ~8 plays until an *LSU* fan paid them to play "Hold That Tiger"

I didn't realize until today how fortunate I was to see Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie in an actual theater. I knew it was small, but *26* THEATERS? My Trash Friday opinion is that college marching bands shouldn’t have any clarinets and minimal saxophones/piccolos.
It pains me to admit how much I like them, especially their instrumentation. They’re a brass ensemble with some saxophones, so they don’t bother with clarinets, etc., which nobody can hear on a football field. It makes them sound louder and bossier, and they have a great fight song.

I was in 3rd grade when this came out and we were PSYCHED to go see it. My mom only took me because I promised her that all the bad guys who get hurt are robots. They changed that in the movie.
I moved to Chicago two weeks ago and on Monday I got off a plane at O’Hare at peak rush hour and stepped right onto a train that dropped me two blocks from my front door.
Since I’ve been conscious, my favorite thing about my hometown is watching the freighters on Lake St. Clair just above the Detroit River.
