Pope Leo XIV met with one of the most prominent advocates for greater LGBTQ+ inclusion in the Catholic Church. The Rev. James Martin said Leo told him that he intended to continue Pope Francis’ policy of LGBTQ+ acceptance in the church and encouraged him to keep up his advocacy.

Unions helped us get many important rights. They’ve also supported racist immigration laws, war, imperialism, and carcerality. Don’t romanticize unions. We need them but there’s a lot of bad politics in and supported by them. Unions are what we make them.

As the GOP has ascended by relentlessly pushing its message and building a base on that, he tells Democrats the last thing they should do is take a principled stand and advocating for it. I'm sorry, but he's been of far more use to the GOP than the beliefs he claims to hold.
He thinks the way for democrats to advance their agenda is, somehow, to run as center-right politicians, and then suddenly do a bunch of liberal stuff when they're elected, without building any popular support for it, much less defending it against right-wing attacks.
I think you misspelled "telling Democrats to throw trans people under the bus." He's built his entire brand on telling the left that they're panicking and are sinning by actually advocating for the things they believe in, even as the GOP has become a full-on fascist party.
