This question only ever goes one way. If the results had shown conservatives cut off liberal family members, the consensus would be to ask what the left was doing to cause that. Conservatives are never asked to account for their actions in the same way.

There’s also a clear implication that the parents have a RIGHT to cut off their children, but for children to cut off their parents goes against the natural order of things.
I think this is a lot of it. Parents cutting out kids for being gay, or having a child out of wedlock, or whatever is framed as being about “morals” whereas kids cutting out parents for being intolerant bigots is framed as being about “politics.”
Conservatives were disowning their kids for being gay for decades, but somehow that never got the same framing 🤔 Must not be political views...

An important thing to understand about this is that the type of sentiment analysis needed to manipulate the For You algorithm was totally trivial to do *before* the AI boom. "Show fewer posts that are positive about Kamala Harris and more that are positive about Trump" is very easy to program

However, 98% of Twitter users mindlessly default to the algorithm, so it still chooses which of YOUR POSTS are seen by others, which is hugely influential on how even the "Following-only" people post.

This post is meant to sell AI results monitoring software but I found it interesting. LLMs are less likely to provide predictable or repetitive results, meaning citations and authority of responses change wildly even if you look at them MoM.
