Going by historical groupings of forts, I think its either a Line (Maginot etc) when in a linear formation, or just Defenses when clustered around a point.

Changing seasons or moving theaters bring the need for new camouflage. What hides you in one place and time will make you stand out in another. Many tankheads, like this T-34 in winter camo, would be repainted by its own crew, with varying levels of skill.

Oh man, this, mana echoes and goblin warrens was the first "infinite" play I discovered as a wee lad. We were still playing with mana burn so I needed to win that round or explode myself.

I've managed to take some pictures of my RAFM conversions.
I always think of the the Mondoshawan from The Fifth Element, but the Vogons fit the Imperium a lot better thematically.

The free sample pdf is a good 40 pages of the book + sheets etc. While fan translations of the rules never hooked me much, seeing the classic art in here is worth it alone IMHO. Look at these goobers!
That describes most of my game shelf, even worse with pdfs.
The art is fantastic imho. That down to earth slightly awkward machines style from the 90s. I've been catching snippets of the game and translations online for decades, glad it's finally getting a wider release. Though from partial fan translations, the actual system did not amaze tbh.
We are playing fully online here so the cards are ideal. I've already started sculpting some 2mm Ottoman though.
Lacking any key tactical options my opponent had declared battle in the most fun option instead, a full field of columns with the last one on either side already in position to re-enforce during the battle. My remaining column sneaks south scout the enemy and capture a village before battle.
I'm at the point where I'm actively trying to revive my high school German. But being a native Dutch speaker is a bit of a leg up there.

Yeah I was getting that idea. This is where my trusty jewelers saw comes in, and the first 3 months of tradeschool doing little besides practicing with it.
3d printed models can have the same problem, I tend to prime early these days because that makes them stand out a lot more. Second clean up round and prime again after.
Same here. And yeah I'm thinking how best to take them apart for cleaning. And maybe set them up for modularity for some WYSIWYG later. Kinda considering getting some lego technic plugs to make rotating wastes for during play?

Yeah it was crap that the TC team had to deal with it, but in the long run it probably did their community a lot of good that they had reason to put out a very clear statement that early on. Their style and theme inevitably attracts a particular group that you probably don't want in.

The Hirotada was a Type 00 unit modified for commander use. I thought it would be cool for the communication equipments to mirror Sengoku era props like the war fan and sashimono banner. #tankhead #tankheadmecha

end of "day 2" campaign movement, I'm smelling the declaration of a battle on day 3.
I love how this combines that classic "battleships in space" look with a much more modern sci-fi styling without feeling mismatched.

And the forces may be uneven, its likely not all columns will make it, and they don't need to be the same size either, could be a 1 cavalry "decoy". But it never feels like a random scenario, because you know exactly what happened on that map to make you end up in this situation.
This means a player might want to play very defensively. You may have a 1 VP lead and defending that town till the end will win you the campaign. Or you may know that you need to win the battle because the enemy holds all the towns in the region. Deployment and the reinforcements also vary like this
Routing the enemy also wins you the game. Blucher divides a battle into 30 turns (15 for each player) and basically considers this a full day. If you don't outright win the battle by then, the person who has the most map VP wins, accounting for any ones that changed hands during the battle.
You use the scenery on that 2x3 map section to determine terrain setup and you deploy columns in their sectors. The map has town and cities that are worth VP and if fighting around them they can be captured. You also each place an extra objective on the table. If you capture all, you win. Or....
You play a couple of "days" of this campaign style, moving your columns across the map. At some point one of the players will declare a battle, locking a 2x3 section in as the battlefield with other columns still having a chance to move onto it, or get adjacent to be re-enforcements.
And because I know somebody will ask, this is "Scharnhorst" the short quick pre-game campaign for Blucher by Sam Mustafa. First game so far but I greatly enjoy Sam's writing style. And I'm already thinking how I can adapt this sub-system to other games. sammustafa.com/blucher

A good reminder that I need to get one with mine. I did a test print of some unbridled horses which turned out ok and then got distracted I think. Wild hordes did indeed drag me away.
The finished, fully painted, fully based, fully labelled, 2mm scale II/49 Marian Roman army — with all possible options — for the De Bellis Antiquitatus 3 ruleset. I realized that I hadn't taken a photo of the finished army all together.
This is entirely my own biases I'm sure, but somehow it makes it feel more high brow.
The cylindrical head reminds me of Lego figures, but (intentionally or not) those tend to look horrifying with more realistic skin tones and textures. But this looks great! Charming even, well done.

On the model they are integrated with the front skirt. I agree they look like they are something, but I don't think its ever been specified. On the Xeku Zwei they are replaced by much larger missile pods.
And just to be sure I don't prefer it but naaah, don't feel like painting white over bright blue plastic anyway.
Easy to go crazy with AoZ TTT modularity quickly here, trying to restrain myself. Not sure what size these pods are supposed to be really but the idea of them fitting onto the Xeku shoulder claws makes sense to me naratively, though maybe not look so great.
And just like any other media there is fantastic deep stuff that id really only feel like revisiting every few years, as well as categorically stupid trash that I can't help but enjoy deeply.

I've found another tiny nod to the Xeku at least. The Transpack System (aka how to turn a MS backpack into lego) diagram shows the Xeku backpack on the far right side. Which suggests that either TR series suits can use the Xeku backpack and/or other way round.

Question for the sickos of the deep end of Gundam. Is there any AoZ lore linking to the Xeku? To me the Advanced Marasai looks like a perfect midpoint between the Marasai and the Xeku, but somehow AoZ-re doesn't seem to have touched the Xeku among its myriad of MS variants.

It usually comes in red/orange to set it appart, but it's all the same design lineage.
The advanced marasai didn't exist in 2015 for example.
Hmm some interesting points though the discussion is from 2015, we've had a decade and literally 100+ advance of zeta reboot units since then.
