Thirdly, the very real crime of the Israeli government is the murderous slaughter of 10s or 100s of thousands of people in Gaza, not the false crime of "the Jews" and 911 that, as terribly murderous as 911 was, killed a comparatively few 3,000 people. Why even bring up 911? 4/5
Second, why bring 911 into it? It has nothing at all to do with Gaza. And most Palestinians are too young to have any meaningful memory of 911. It'd be like when I was a kid people talking about "Pearl Harbour was an inside job"— like, whatever, loser, we're talking about today. 3/5
First, Palestinians and their supporters, have been finding common cause with Jewish people who are also opposed to Israeli government attacks on Palestinian people. That's smart politics, sure, but it's also just people of good will agreeing with each other. Why upend that allegiance? 2/5

Reading a court decision about a rape charge this morning (not going to link to it as it has identifying info about the victim). The charge was dismissed because despite overwhelming circumstantial evidence, there was reasonable doubt. I've seen people convicted of murder on less evidence.

Because I was too tired to think about much, last night I happened to watch the original Star Trek series, and in particular episode 7 of season 1, "What Are Little Girls Made Of?" It seemed to speak to our time, nearly 60 years later.
