Yes it was. I went to school in the 80s and the school psychologist/social workers office was a safe place for all the kids that were different. And there were kids in there that felt weird getting changed in the locker rooms so she helped them come up with a strategy plan. Like late passes

Otherwise 2 parent households take turns staying home, working split shifts until the kids are in school …people do what they have to do to survive. And I don’t think I know anyone making over 60K a year. All of them raised/ are raising kids.
