So, when a Democrat makes their only statement on trans issues about trans women in sports, they are saying that this is their priority on trans issues - not restoring our equality under the law but joining Republicans in eroding it.

To expand on that thought, when I see someone say "humans reached Eurasia XXX years ago", I assume it's Homo sapiens, and H. sapiens in Eurasia 1.8 Mya would indeed be a surprise (from what I remember). On the other hand, H. erectus in Eurasia at 1.8 Mya is well within expected range.
Yeah, for sure. When I say "there's lots of people talking about it", I'm speaking of a more or less totally academic discourse. The popular conversation is a whole other issue & I agree that it doesn't contain much about the colonization of Eurasia (though the Neanderthal discourse gets weird).
Europe/Asia is not a very clear line, especially when talking about the Caucasus, so I wouldn't sweat that particular quibble. OTOH yes the point about species is important.
I think people need to recognize the difference between “trauma” and “having emotions”. Some people need to challenge themselves a little emotionally so they can emotionally mature. The world is hard. It’s hard for all of us. Trauma is real and it’s ok to hide and protect yourself sometimes.
