yeah - I was a lot less critical about my reading when I was 12 in the mid 1970s. Harper Hall stuff holds up a little better especially as YA is now it's own category.
I don't think it's really been intentionally memory-holed or anything - it's just not come up in recent discussions. I personally find it more interesting to discuss how the books changed once her son started co-writing as he has a military background and training/tactics became more of a focus.
I grew up performing outdoors at Renfairesand not reapplying sunscreen. I haven't had any of those moles and blotches turn out cancerous yet but are definitely keeping my eyes on a couple. We were young, dumb and didn't listen. But we know better now, and this nonsense is infuriating
