I did lift a carrier bag of Picasso second early potatoes too

This is today. I did cut it, actually 18 days ago, before the rain. A few hours,even days of heavy rain will never be enough to fix the temperatures we're getting. Obviously it's not seeing a mower for a while yet.

I'll admit to buying more than one copy of a book because the one I have doesn't match the other covers. The bookshelf must be ,in itself , a joy to behold, before a single page is turned.

I bought three clematis for five pounds from Asda earlier this year,then a few days later bought a larger single plant for twenty pounds from a nursery. Guess which is now three times as big and flowering and which is a crispy dead one?
Garlic is more accessible in a basket for us,(we use a lot) but I'm going to string the onions. #allotment
Had a fun morning listening to soul classics and boiling up blackcurrants. Now have four small jars/one kilo of spiced blackcurrant jam and almost a bottle of blackcurrant cordial. #homegrown

Trimmed and washed the garlic before taking home to dry out in a cold greenhouse. #allotment
Also, if you're out of brown sugar, add the right amount of molasses to white sugar and you'll be right. Molasses or treacle is made during the processing of sugar into white sugar. Less for light brown , add to caster sugar for golden caster sugar etc.
I've been cutting grass and hedges in the rain all week so a trip to the allotment in a light drizzle was almost a pleasure today. Beer opened now though.

I'm that sad person who bought wild flower plugs two years ago, including clover. To be honest my garden is a riot this time of year though. Ox-eye daisy just going over, vipers bugloss about to flower and clover getting massive. Couldn't cut that back because of the calendar!
