Are Magic the Gathering artist proofs prints or playing cards?? They’re not legal cards and if they have a drawing on the back that’s classed as artwork, right??
They are about 70% of my customers on my shop so yeah, it’s pretty devastating!
I mean it could all change at any time but this is what we’ve found so far!
The label will need to have PDDP on it to show US customs that we have paid on behalf of the customer otherwise they will be charged. We also need a phone number and the parcel must go tracked. This does mean tees will go up for US customers to cover the fees but prints will stay the same
UK artist selling to the US- My wonderful assistant Sarah and I are working out how we can still sell to you! Here is what we have found so far. Prints,posters,comics have 0% tarrif BUT Royal Mail will charge 50p per parcel in fees. Tees and Playing cards (MTG??) have 10% tariff plus 50p fees

Finally getting around to playing Ghost of Tsushima for the first time and Rob has set it all up for me on his old PS4. It’s not my usual kind of game, I have a Switch so my go to tends to be Zelda, Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing. I hope my brain latches onto it, I desperately need a new game

And, as other artists have said, if your budget isn’t particularly high sometimes we can work to that! If the schedule happens to be clear and the project doesn’t look complex we can sometimes find a work around. There’s no harm in asking and the worst that can happen is we say ‘no’
If you actually have a reasonable budget to hire an artist for your project, TELL THEM IN YOUR INITIAL EMAIL TO THEM. Right off the bat. Here is the project, this is what I can pay, this is the deadline. We get so many time wasters it’s remarkably refreshing when a potential client is upfront

I’ve been to Confuzzled before with Wolf Watch UK when they very kindly nominated us as their chosen charity and the other volunteers and I had a blast! Our main volunteer Caroline would love to have another stall there at some point so we could tie it in 🤔
I’ve often wondered about contacting the large bands I work for or maybe the comic/art conventions to float the idea of a live drawing event on large canvases, maybe even auction the end result off to charity but I would then have to organise it all and I’m not sure I could. Would be cool though

Aw thank you! When I get in the zone the world falls away and I just GO! It’s a wonderful feeling. The most challenging thing is getting the sketch down in the first place, you have to stand back a billion times to see what you’re doing!

I love to draw on walls and usually have the opportunity to do so at the local paint festival which is held every year. This year the festival isn’t on though which is a bummer. I don’t even get paid for it, I just love to take part

Don’t be disheartened! I like to think that if you’re consistent and aiming to improve that any artist can get better and we all improve at different rates. Try not to compare! I’ve always made art, it was the only thing I was good at as a kid and I’m very lucky to have made it a career

I liked that one too! I’ve floated the idea of a ‘4 horseman of the apocalypse/ride the lightning’ concept a couple of times but other sketches were chosen! Not complaining, the werewolf poster really was 100% me
The way you convey characters and story is perfection. Also, I don’t know if I’ve ever said it but the way you draw hands is *chefs kiss
It was the IPad Pro and @procreate.com that really turned things around for me. I can ink up an 18x24 inch poster in Procreate no problem and it felt like a very natural way of learning digital art

I switched to digital inking and art in 2018 because I wanted to pursue making band posters and I got VERY lucky in 2019 when I first got hired by Metallica. I don’t think it’s absolutely crucial to learn digital for commercial work but it makes making changes SO much easier

Inked drawings from 2008- the earliest I can find at the moment but I was uploading my drawings onto Deviantart way earlier than that! It’s a shame Deviantart fell up its own ass with that AI shit, it was a wonderful art community for a while.

Drawings from 2013 when I only used traditional media. I think I might have still been working at the call centre here but on the tail end of being made redundant. The first one, (the crow with a human skeleton) was the first piece I made that went viral and it got bought by Anchorage Brewing

A few months ago my friend asked me draw on her dart board and in return she would repair the crotch rips in my favourite jeans (werewolf problems) I really enjoyed it and want to do more stuff like this
I believe that the customs from is different now and you’ll still pay a small fee
Whilst it looks like Royal Mail are opening up post to the US again and prints are exempt from custom charges (great news), I will be holding off sending to America for a couple of weeks due to what I imagine will be a big backlog in US customs.
update for uk folks, RM have their tariff prepayment system up, and while prints and comics are exempt, they’ll still charge a fee for the 0% tariff that they won’t be processing! fortunately it doesn’t stack per item, just a flat fee

To be fair I think he would have preferred it if I helped him take down the shed instead of catcalling him. In my defence he was wearing very slutty overalls.
