Iโm STILL proud to be an American. No matter whatโs happening, I love this country. Iโm a Black woman. I went to my first MLB game in the 70s at the age of 8 and was spit on and called a nigger. So, Iโve never felt that โclosenessโ, but things were manageable and the hate was less prevalent.
I can agree to that one. As I told my students, white men and women marched alongside MLK. The Civil Rights Movement didnโt befall them directly, but it was the principle of it.
I donโt recall an era when America was ever GREAT for Jews, Blacks, Gays, women, Native Americans, etc. This country is rapidly regressing back to times of fear and destruction.
