The protests that bring down regimes are engaged in by people prepared to have it be THE ONE. If people show up with guitars & colorful costumes it’s a rally. My concern is how many people don’t understand the difference. When it crosses that line I hope they’re ready & respond appropriately 🙏
Anyone going needs to be ready for brute force because that is what the soldiers have been put there to be. Beautification was busy work while they waited. Stay away from surly ppl in all black, or someone instigating, probably police. Have an escape plan. Use a burner phone & an encrypted app
Exactly! Every ‘protest’ I’ve been at, worked civilian perimeter, or seen video since the election has actually been a rally and not a real protest. When people show up for a rally & get met w/ protest response they aren’t ready. I hope they’re ready to protest-not just taking quality signs to a war
When it comes to fight or flight I genuinely have no flight. I also follow content creators who have been in this fight a lot longer & will be the ones on the receiving frontlines of escalation. I am taking my cues from them because ‘no flight’ can partner w/ wisdom
I hope this does what everyone wants it to do! I genuinely do—I was in Phoenix at one of the first massive protests when he was expected to pardon Arpaio in 2017. I know his tactics & that he’s already fled in fear. Everyone needs to make this THE ONE protest - if it fails it will get a lot worse
I’m really not sure why anyone is reading passivity or fear into what I said. The time to do what’s being talked about was a month ago - or when military was first sent to LA. Or before he armed them in DC & made any act of aggression against them a felony. Now needs more strategy than brute force.
That was the reality here.

It’s challenging because we are so many different states - some larger than multiple European countries. I’m hoping every form of rebellion & protest grows and makes a statement there & everywhere across the country. We’re not fighting to ‘prevent’ - we’re fighting to remove.

Already happening. Any time someone says he won’t go that far it reminds me how many people don’t really understand him. He wanted the military to shoot protestors in the legs. He’s been telling everyone he won’t be leaving office. If he really wouldn’t do it we wouldn’t need to protest.

fascism requires a multi-faceted take down. We have to do ALL the things - not attack the people not doing the thing we think is most important. Just means that’s our lane. Unless you want to argue that disabled people who can’t protest in the streets are useless to the rebellion

I hear you! Our son & his family had to leave an apartment that had become unsafe & are looking for a new place. Navigating cost of living here is fun but there are options they’re finding. Them getting their own place again will be bittersweet. I admit I will miss the sweet toddler hugs every day
