The Congressional Medal of Honor was handed out like candy during the Civil War, incl 864 to a regiment for reenlisting! (Those revoked in 1916.) Then stringent criteria were established and it became the high honor it is today. Likewise, the PMoF will recover its gravitas, after Trump.
