Nothing is going right for this govt on borrowing, inflation or growth so change the narrative. We have had similar figures for the whole of the last govt including a double dip recession. Austerity does not work. Start spending to produce growth but most of all make most people better off.

So here in southern England we have lost over 3 hrs of light since mid June. 1.5hrs in the morning and same in evening. Thats a lot of light lost. And another month will be worse. Why we don’t put clocks back at end of Sept I’ve no idea. So we have whole of Oct with dark mornings.

So the “hero” Steve Parish turns out not to be. “Fighting” for Palace to be in the Europa league rather than the Conference league - for the money. Trying to sell his captain - for the money. Why he is the football equivalent of Farage- appealing to the masses while he screws them.

Watch Hojland succeed at Napoli. Watch Anthony to continue to succeed at RBetis. Hojland for Ballon d’or in a year? Watch Utd’s new keeper struggle. Then wonder what’s going on until you realise this has been going on since 2014- when the Glazers took over. Then put 2 and 2 together.

100% that Starmer will lose the 2029 election. That much was clear from his first 6 months. Main reason apart from this govt’s incompetence and ceding of ground to far right is of course press support for Farage. He will give them what they want - lower taxes for wealthy.

For Clegg the stuff about tuition fees does not bother me at all. It was more his support for unnecessary austerity measures which created a double dip recession and the consequences we are all still feeling today . Lib Dem’s lost any degree of respect and dignity with support for extremism.

Why is no one in football joining the dots regarding Man Utd? Why are the owners being excused of any responsibility . On Sky just now Simon Thomas thinks it’s de ja vu regarding their failures but still won’t criticise the ownership. It’s toxic and corrupt and it starts at the top.

Man Utd owners and hierarchy are intrinsically linked to failure. They can’t sack Amorim as the whole corrupt edifice will be questioned- the Glazers loan to buy the club, the siphoning off of money to give to family members and the toxic nature of Ratcliffe’s tenure. They can’t risk it.

In 2 or 3 managerial appointments time Ruben Amorim will be seen as a great as Solskjaer is being seen now. This is not about managers but the toxic owners. The club is run appallingly from top to bottom. Glazers and Ratcliffe need to go. Any businessman seeing brexit as a good idea is flawed.

Why is energy cap increasing when it’s been low since April? Is it because in Oct they put the prices up so shareholders get a big dividend for Xmas? We are paying the highest in energy costs in the whole of Europe.

Wirtz is fast becoming one of the most unnecessary purchases. A fine player but because he’s neither midfield nor striker I’m not sure where he fits in. Accommodating him has left us so open. If Mac is available I’d play our best midfield 3 from last season with Gakpo Ekitike and Salah up front.

Yep and instead of adopting a slowly slowly catch the monkey approach the left put people off a left wing cause. Having said that Starmer’s pragmatism or some would call it reactionary approach gives pragmatism a bad name.

We are in love with the rich. Look at how we love the royals, popular soaps on rich families. This is of course largely the result of what we read in our daily press. They are largely owned by rich non domicile people pushing anti people/pro rich stories. And the left acquiesce in this eg Brexit

Exactly. Brexit has been an unmitigated disaster. And the left have to take their share of blame. Even now there’s left wingers still believing in it like Mick Lynch of Aslef

They are doing it themselves without any help from enemies. The latest is Reeves offering the finance sector even less regulation. (They never learn do they)

Since 1979 and certainly since 2010 the whole way society was ordered and run was utterly changed with those already rich benefitting from govts which sucked up to them and gave them obligation- free lives to live in a society taking benefits but having to offer very little themselves.

Reform are a more extreme version of the tories. If people think 14 years of the tories were bad have no idea how much worse Reform will be. They applauded the Truss budget ffs.

Yes there is. That is the narrative of the Tories. Firstly Brexit has lost us 4% of GDP then there’s uncollected taxes mainly from those better off (£36bn in 2021/22 alone) . Then there’s austerity which is aiding low growth. Reeves is Osbourne 2

It’s that but also the economics - what part of 15 years of austerity leading to no growth do they not understand.

I really do not know. I’m anti Brexit and above all but also in favour of widespread political and constitutional reform.

I know Lab supporters who have supported them their whole lives -30/40 years who are deserting them. For myself I’m disenfranchised- I can’t vote labour, would never vote Lib Dem after 2010 and greens have no chance. Labour need to tackle people who have seen their incomes rise since 2010.

The 2 cheeks of same arse was penned by the appalling Galloway who along with Corbyn and left in general have done progressive politics a massive disservice. There’s also Brexit which the left support and seemingly Starmer too

Agreed but they’ve also continued austerity and people on medium or less incomes are no better off. There’s nothing being done about utility costs or cost of living in general. With public services being cut people are thinking this is Tory lite. Also rhetoric from Starmer on race is like Tories.

Don’t know about tories but I think we can stop doing the “lab should do this or lab should do that”. They won’t. They are exactly the same as the last govt in tone, in policies and in rhetoric.

The fight for truth is on says the BBC. But they are not even starting to look for it. For example was the shooting of Trump last year staged? The BBC don’t appear to be interested in finding out.

The messaging from the US on Ukraine like so much else they are saying on the world stage at the moment is contradictory. They want Europe to step up but are excluding both Europe and Ukraine from talks about Ukraine. One minute Trump is critical of Putin the next he’s all pally with him.

Presumably a demo in support of genocide in Gaza with placards reading “I support Israel Govt’s actions in Gaza” would not lead to any arrests?
