It’s a smart to talk about russia “weaponizing immigration” against EU. russia has been financing anti immigration parties to weaken the EU - this can turn the tide in terms of public perception

In 2022 russian launched its full scale invasion with a plan to occupy all of Ukraine. Also, in 2022 putin signed a decree formally recognizing Ukrainian territories as part of russia….

This ⬇️. The notion that a smaller country should cede to a larger one is basically setting the precedent for constant wars.. until there only is one country

…and with was done intentionally. russia purposely attacking civilians to devastate Ukraine

Antrei Speranski (@antrei.com) reply parent
I agree, but russia continues to demonstrate that it has absolutely no intention of doing so.. It has deteriorated so much that only an eternal enemy and war can keep it together
Antrei Speranski (@antrei.com) reply parent

If he has protection - he is not illegal.. But we are loosing the essence here… A person is being deported to a country he has no connection to without any due process
Antrei Speranski (@antrei.com) reply parent
1) A petition is an accusation not a conviction thus not a deportable offense 2) So why is he deported pre trial? Point being there must be a due process

Don’t forget that russia initially invaded Ukraine in 2014 annexing Crimea with claims that they never invaded. Ffull fledged invasion in 2022 started as russia claimed to be protection russian speakers… then they claimed there were chemical weapons… then NATO - which “worked” best… …on
Antrei Speranski (@antrei.com) reply parent
Yes! But our recent history seems to have more examples of regressing into a dictatorship rather than the other way around… All recent examples.. soviet collapse (except for russia failure)… Greece, Spain, Portugal (70s)… Chile.. had sadly been dictatorships for a while.. Don’t let it get worse!

putin wants to Ukraine to cede it’s land and never to join NATO in return for a “written promise to never attack”… If written promises had any value to him - Trump could offer putin a “written promise to never attack” and solve his “root causes”
Antrei Speranski (@antrei.com)
“…putin offered a written promise not to attack Ukraine or any European country again” russians reputation for keeping their word… just like the Budapest Memorandum

Antrei Speranski (@antrei.com) reply parent
It’s actually giving legitimacy to putins brutal attack on Ukrainian sovereignty… Believing that diplomacy is an answer to russia indiscriminate bombings of civilians and military occupation that has been going on for years… is delusional and will result in more devestation to Ukraine
Antrei Speranski (@antrei.com) reply parent
I think Trump knows very well that perception trumps essence.. Gaza military occupation can be framed as “peace”. Weakened Ukraine by withholding military aid, and emboldened russia by lack of sanctions can too be framed as “peace”
Antrei Speranski (@antrei.com) reply parent
When is seating down with a criminal who casts death, rape and devastation to their neighbor, a good idea? russia will use this to enforce the domestic rhetoric of “war against the west” US will use this to delay sanctions, and give russia unwarranted legitimacy

Antrei Speranski (@antrei.com) reply parent
A poor attempt at belated damage control
Antrei Speranski (@antrei.com) reply parent
