Wow - and a household budget analogy isn't smplistic? 🤔 I accept that there are always limits to soverignty. One country can't control what others are doing. What governments can do is ensure spending maximises domestic output and that the real economy is strong enough to mitigate volatility.
The problem with doing this is that unless you reinforce the sides and top, you'll eventually end up with a big puddle in the middle of the patio. Or so I imagine. 😂
It really isn't. I can't issue money. Governments can. The only thing a government has to watch out for is inflation, and to control that, it needs to tax, as taxation removes money from the economy. All the things a government does or doesn't do are political choices.
