Oh perfect! That settles it, Shezcrafti: The Series now has a running gag that Wacky Shawn is trying to start a jellies and jam business, and he keeps coming up with increasingly weird ideas that disturb the other characters (which I guess is you and the kids). 🤣

In a couple of ways they are a sort of spiritual successor to Rescue Bots. I think there's some Rescue Bots engineering DNA in them, and there's a clear emphasis in doing more with less, if that makes sense. I think they make for very simple but very fun toys.
It's basically the return of Scout class (again). I like what they're doing with it though!

Oh how exciting. Reminds me of my time working at an MCI call center. Goals were determined by the whole unit, and one guy had consistently ludicrous stats that made the goals impossible. Instead of investigating how he alone managed it, they'd "coach" the rest of us to try to get numbers like his.
That reminds me, the other day I had to explain to my child what a match is. It's weird to grow up with constant "don't play with matches" PSAs and realize that these days, outside of fairly specific uses, there's just no reason that a kid would ever encounter them.

You're not the first to show surprise. I've been speculating that the runs were fairly small (they were mostly sold in online stores and specialty shops) so it didn't take a lot for them to be profitable enough to justify more.

The argument is that Mickey is *playing the role of Steamboat Willie* in the cartoon, which helps distinguish him from later (non-public domain and very actionable) depictions of Mickey. Again, it's a disingenuous. A farce even! But it's a farce that keeps the Disney lawyers at bay.
Part of it may be disingenuous. Mickey isn't in the public domain, but the Steamboat Willie cartoon is. Disney can't sue anyone as long as they maintain that they are not in fact using Mickey Mouse (who is not named in the Steamboat Willie cartoon) in their original works.

I have been beating this drum since they came out. In the "original trilogy", the vast majority of people will tell you their favorite film is ESB or ROTJ--the two films Lucas didn't direct! That really should have been meaningful to the studios, if not initially then at least after Episode 1.

I think a lot of these projects, instead of trying (and largely failing) to update nostalgic things, should just make them period pieces. Set your 80s thing in the 80s, not as a joke, but because that's when it was relevant. Nostalgia isn't current, that's the point!
