The fact that I have to drive past a forest fire to go to and from work today does not sit well. Sending my kid to a camp in a wooded area 45 minutes drive (with no traffic) from my office…. Today’s anxiety level will be at the max.

Another good reason to WFH - water conservation! I don’t think the ‘if it’s yellow, let it mellow’ thing is something that will be happening at the office. I mean, I support water conservation, but….
I don't know who these two men are but I feel like we could use them to pull a switcheroo and have a new Mayor of Halifax and Premier of Nova Scotia and it would be at least a few months before anyone caught on
I mean, is it too much to ask to come up with a varied meal plan that is healthy and quick and not the same week after week, that the picky 9 year old with food allergies can and will eat it? Oh, it is too much to ask? Ok. Same old boring meals it is… ;) Bit I will spend time trying.

Ok my husband says it was cold. I googled and it says 15. I am still chilly now after coming home and having a shower.
Was there this morning and yesterday. It’s lovely! Cool but not hurt your body cold. I didn’t note the actual temps of the water though. But I’m a wimp and I went in.

I made chocolate chip cookies after supper. Put them in the oven, cleaned the dishes and then came outside to sit in peace. Then M came out ‘the oven is beeping’. Oven? Beeping? The cookies!! Perimenopause brain fog is real. The cookies are fine.

Not ready to go back to work after a week off. I’d like to retire now, but off to work I go, and kiddo off to camp.
The band is pretty good. I enjoy the music until about 9. My kid can’t sleep. By midnight I’m super angry. But they do it only once a year, so…. I don’t say anything.
My neighbours seem to be having their annual ‘bring over the band and play music loudly outside (with amps) until the wee hours’ party today. Last year it was going until after 3 am. I don’t understand why they think this is ok in a subdivision.
Always. But now I don’t let myself go in anywhere more than five min early.

It’s only women’s health related. Nothing urgent, you know… In all seriousness, it really wasn’t urgent. But very much looking forward to talking to a doctor about everything I’ve learned on the internet on perimenopause symptoms since 2019.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still very happy to get the referral! But the fact that it took 6 years!!! And that doctor sadly died in 2022!
My previous family doctor closed his practice 3 years ago. His old office just called. That referral he put in for me in 2019 just came through. They called to let me know about the referral and to ask where to fax it to for my current doctor.

I am government. But we don’t use that acronym at my office (not really relevant to our work), so I was confused at conferences. I knew it wasn’t the enterprise one, but didn’t care enough to ask. Subject matter expert makes SO much sense. That’s my take away of the day. Yay Bluesky!

I often stop mid crosswalk if they roll towards me, then make aggressive eye contact and then slooowwwwlllyyy finish crossing. Of course only if I actually feel safe enough to do so.

Anyone have any tried and true ways to get through matted hair? I was away for work for three days and my daughter’s hair is the worst I’ve seen it. We’ve tried the comb and detangling spray, conditioner, Wet brush, etc.

Currently at a conference in Montreal. Total introvert mode - and skipping all the networking breaks in favour of my quiet room or outdoor walks. I WILL go back down early this time though. That’s the goal anyway.

My 8yo trying to convince me to adopt a sibling for her- ‘when they’re my age, I will be able to drive’. ‘Oh I wouldn’t expect you to drive a sibling around.’ Her: ‘No, I’d drive myself around. If I don’t get a sibling, I won’t. You will have to drive me.’ Ya, still not happening.
